This special behind-the-scenes collaboration with the Allentown Symphony Association (ASA) chronicles dress rehearsals and live performance of Mussorgsky’s celebrated “Pictures at an Exhibition” held at Miller Symphony Hall in March. The project celebrates the city’s long tradition and dedication to orchestral music. These black-and-white images are a dramatic mingling of the artistic languages of both the visual and the performing arts, and give an intimate view of how the professional musicians and concert hall staff of the ASA bring their spectacular performances to life.
At the reception you can hear remarks from members of the ASA, and hopefully chat with me a bit about music and photography. Two of my other collections, "Street Stories" and "Street Musicians" will also be on display at the gallery. We will also have light refreshments and live music. The gallery is located next door to RE:find and Sorrelli in the Two City Center building in the heart of downtown Allentown, a half of a block away from PPL Center.
The exhibition will be shown at the gallery through April 28. Gallery hours are:
Meter parking on the street is limited to 30 minutes, however several parking decks and surface lots are close by, and the Renaissance Allentown Hotel just around the corner on Seventh Street has valet parking.
